1. Prior to trouble shooting, please make sure:
A . The telephone line your ADSL modem is plugged into has a dial tone.
B. There has not been a change to the telephone line details (the details of the lessee of the telephone line have not changed since the ADSL was installed, and your telephone line has not been disconnected during the period the ADSL line has been installed.)
C. The modem is plugged into a telephone socket that uses the ADSL nominated telephone number.
D. Troubleshoot the ADSL connection using a single computer with the modem attached directly to the computer and phone line
E. Shut down all components.(then turn off all at the power point.)
(a) your computer
(b) your monitor
(c) your modem
Leave them all switched off for a period of 5 minutes.
F. Then turn the power to the modem ON.
Wait to see if 4 lights come on. (Can take a few minutes)
If you have 4 lights we have accomplished an ADSL connection for you.
G.Restart computer if all 4 lights are on.
H. Aslo turn on monitor.
If your computer will still not connect to the Internet then go to the rest of the trouble shooting pages to investigate further.
