Disconnected when launching Outlook Express
Option 1
Try un-ticking the option ALWAYS CONNECT TO THIS ACCOUNT in Outlook Express. Click on the operating system that you use, to view the instructions.

Option 2 Try selecting NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION in the Connection area of Internet Options. Click on the operating system that you use, to view the instructions.

Option 3 Click the “Reset Web Settings” button which is located in the Programs tab in Internet Options. Click on the operating system that you use, to view the instructions.

Option 1
- Windows 98/Windows ME/Windows 2000/Windows XP
Launch Outlook Express.
In the Outlook Express menu, click on TOOLS, then click on ACCOUNTS. This will open the Accounts window.
In the Accounts window, click on the MAIL tab.
In the Mail tab, click on the 05COM Broadband MAIL ACCOUNT.
Then click on the PROPERTIES button. This will open the 05COM Broadband Mail Properties window.
In the 05COM Broadband Properties window, click on the CONNECTIONS tab.
In the Connections tab, UNTICK the Always connect to this account using box.
Then click on the OK button. This will close the window.
In the Accounts window, click on the CLOSE button. This will close the window.
In the Outlook Express menu, click on the FILE, then click on EXIT. This will close the window

[top] - Windows 2000 On the Windows taskbar, click on START, select SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
In Control Panel, double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
In Internet Options, click on the CONNECTIONS tab.
On the Connections tab, under DIAL UP AND VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK SETTINGS, select NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION.
Click on OK to close Internet Options.
Click on the X to close the Control Panel.

In Control Panel, double-click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
In Internet Options, click on the CONNECTIONS tab.

In the Windows taskbar, click on the START button, select Settings, then click on CONTROL PANEL.
In the Control Panel window, double-click on the INTERNET OPTIONS icon.
In the Internet Properties window, click on the PROGRAMS tab
Under the list of Internet Programs, click on the RESET WEB SETTINGS button.
On the Rest Web Settings box, click the Yes button.
NOTE: If you would like to retain your current homepage, untick the box labelled "Also reset my homepage".
In the Internet Properties window, click on the OK button. This will close the window.
In the Control Panel window, click on the X at the top right of the window. This will close the window.

In the Windows taskbar, click on the START button then click on CONTROL PANEL
In the Control Panel window, double-click on the INTERNET OPTIONS icon.
NOTE: If the Control Panel shows up in Category View, click on the Switch To Classic View link on the left hand side of the Control Panel
