Option 1
Make sure that all connections on the Modem and Computer are in good working condition, and are plugged in correctly and securely.
Option 2
Try freeing up your computers system resources by closing any unnecessary programs.
Option 3
Try reducing interference on your telephone line by ensuring all devices are connected via a line filter or a central line splitter.
Remove all fax machines, answering machines and cordless phones from the phone line.
Remove any double adapters or splitters from the phone line.
If the phone line is over 5m in length try and reduce the length of the line. (Most modems have a small cable with them, this is to improve connectivity).
Remove any mobile phones from the area near your modem and PC. (When the mobile phone rings it creates line noise).
Disable call waiting and clear the line of messages from message bank services.
Make sure the phone line is not coiled, it should be straight to reduce interference.
Check the phone line for a dial-tone and try dialling the access number through the handset.
